Digital Product Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026

This Digital Product Policy sets out the terms on which Evan Evans (“we”, “us”, “our”) grants you access to the digital products available on evanevans.co (the “Site”), including PDF workbooks, downloadable guides, video courses, and any other digital content we now offer or may offer in the future (together, “Digital Products”). It forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read alongside our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.

1. What Digital Products Are

Digital Products are educational materials delivered electronically. They include:

  • PDF workbooks and guides — downloadable documents that guide you through conversations, frameworks, and journaling prompts.
  • Video courses — structured, lesson-based courses delivered through the Site, often accompanied by worksheets and PDF resources.
  • Assessments — interactive self-assessments that produce a score and a personalised result.
  • Membership content — member-only articles, fresh monthly content, and other resources released on a recurring basis.

Digital Products are intangible. Once a download link has been used or a course has been accessed, the product cannot be “returned” in the conventional sense. This Policy explains how that works in practice.

2. Important Disclaimer

All Digital Products are relationship education. They are not therapy, counselling, legal advice, financial advice, or medical advice. They are not a substitute for the advice of a qualified professional. Nothing in our workbooks, courses, assessments, or articles should be read as a recommendation to take, or to refrain from taking, any specific course of action in your relationship or your life.

If you are experiencing significant relationship difficulties, mental health concerns, abuse, financial distress, or any situation that requires professional support, please consult an appropriately qualified therapist, counsellor, solicitor, financial adviser, or medical practitioner. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services. If you are in the UK and need urgent mental health support, you can call the Samaritans free on 116 123, 24 hours a day.

Your use of any Digital Product is entirely at your own risk. Evan Evans accepts no liability for any decisions you make, or any outcomes you experience, based on the content of our Digital Products.

3. Licence and Personal Use

When you purchase a Digital Product, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to download and use that product for your own private use, and (where the product is a workbook or course designed for couples) for use with your partner within your household.

You may print a single copy of any PDF for your own personal use and for use with your partner. You may not print multiple copies for distribution. You may not use any Digital Product for any commercial purpose, including running workshops, coaching sessions, group programmes, or paid events based on or incorporating our content, without our prior written consent.

4. Download Limits

Each Digital Product you purchase comes with a standard allowance of 10 downloads and a download link expiry of 168 hours (7 days) from the time of purchase. These limits exist to balance your reasonable need to download on multiple devices with our need to protect the product against unauthorised distribution.

If you need additional downloads — for example, because you have replaced your computer, lost a backup, or want to install the product on a new device — please email admin@evanevans.co with your order number and we will usually extend your allowance free of charge. Equally, you can always access your purchases from the library in your account at any time.

5. File Format and Compatibility

Our PDF workbooks and guides are delivered as standard PDF files. They are designed to be opened with the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader or any equivalent PDF viewer (including the built-in viewers in macOS Preview, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and most modern smartphones and tablets). Some PDFs include interactive form fields; these are best filled in on a desktop or laptop computer using Adobe Reader.

Video courses are streamed through the Site and require a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. They are tested on the current and previous major versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. We do not guarantee compatibility with browsers that are no longer supported by their manufacturers.

We are unable to offer refunds where a product does not work because the software on your device is significantly out of date. Please keep your operating system and PDF reader up to date.

6. Storage and Backup

Once you have downloaded a Digital Product, you are responsible for storing and backing it up. We provide up to 10 downloads per product to make this easier, and your purchases remain accessible from your account library, but we cannot guarantee indefinite availability of any particular download link or library entry beyond the standard allowance.

We recommend that you save a copy of each Digital Product you purchase to at least two locations — for example, your computer’s hard drive and a cloud backup service. Evan Evans is not liable for any loss of access to a Digital Product caused by your failure to back it up after download.

7. Updates to Digital Products

From time to time we may update a Digital Product — for example, to fix errors, refresh examples, add new sections, or improve formatting. Where we do, you will receive the updated version free of charge if you have already purchased that product. We will notify you by email when a material update is released, and the new version will appear in your account library.

We are not obliged to provide updates indefinitely and may, at our discretion, retire a Digital Product from sale. If a product is retired, you will retain access to any version you have already downloaded.

8. Intellectual Property

All Digital Products — including their text, design, layout, illustrations, exercises, frameworks, and any accompanying video or audio — are the intellectual property of Evan Evans and are protected by United Kingdom and international copyright laws. The “Things I Wish Someone Told Me” name and brand are trademarks of Evan Evans.

Purchasing a Digital Product does not transfer ownership of the underlying content to you. It grants only the limited licence described in Section 3. All rights not expressly granted to you in this Policy are reserved by Evan Evans.

9. Sharing, Reselling, and Distribution Restrictions

In order to keep our prices accessible and to protect the value of our work, the following are strictly prohibited and constitute a material breach of this Policy:

  • Sharing your account login, download links, or PDF files with anyone outside your household.
  • Uploading, posting, or distributing any Digital Product — in whole or in part — on any public website, file-sharing service, social media platform, forum, or messaging group.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or commercialising any Digital Product, in whole or in part, in any form.
  • Removing, altering, or obscuring any copyright notice, watermark, or attribution contained in a Digital Product.
  • Using any Digital Product as the basis for a derivative work to be sold or distributed without our prior written consent.

We actively monitor the internet for unauthorised distribution of our products. Where we find evidence of unauthorised sharing or resale, we may revoke your access without refund, refuse future purchases, and pursue legal remedies to protect our intellectual property.

10. Educational Nature — No Guaranteed Outcomes

Our Digital Products are educational. They provide frameworks, prompts, and information intended to help you reflect on and discuss your relationship. They do not guarantee any specific outcome — in relationships, in communication, in conflict resolution, or otherwise. Results depend on your own effort, your circumstances, your partner’s willingness to engage, and many other factors outside our control.

You accept that no part of any Digital Product constitutes a promise, warranty, or guarantee of any result. If a Digital Product does not work for you, our Refund Policy explains the options available to you.

11. Cancellation of Access

We may suspend or revoke your access to any Digital Product if we believe you have breached this Policy, our Terms of Service, or any other applicable policy. Where access is revoked due to a breach, no refund will be payable.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Digital Product Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our products, our licensing model, or applicable law. The most current version will always be available on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes will apply to purchases made after the date of the change; purchases made before that date will be governed by the policy in force at the time of purchase.
