Why "I Said Sorry" Is Not the Same as Repair

That question appears in relationships after lies, cheating, cruel arguments, broken promises and repeated boundary violations.

The answer is usually not another apology.

It is repair.

An apology looks backward

A good apology says:

I did it.

I understand it hurt you.

I am not going to pretend my intention erased the impact.

I am sorry.
